Review: Sesa Hair Serum

I bought this hair serum because it cam from brand Sesa. I am big fan of  their hair oil and so thought of trying their hair serum. The box came in with hologram seal, and it feels good to receive the products with assurance.

Price: INR 120 for 50 ml. I bought it for INR 105 from flipkart.

It comes in a shiny box pack, similar to Sesa hair oil. But when you open this big box, you will find a relatively tiny serum bottle. The bottle is in trendy shape with flip-top cap. When I opened the bottle and smelled the serum, I was badly put off. It smelled like incense sticks. Ewwww!

Smell of any beauty product is very important to me. And, this one was definitely not happening. But, because I had already spent on this one, I gave it a try. It works like any other serum. It is transparent slightly thick liquid.

I took a small amount of 4 – 5 drops for my bra-strap length hair. Rubbed it onto my towel-dried hair. It takes out the frizz, untangles and smoothens the hair nicely. And, thank God the bad smell does not linger on the hair. There is no smell of serum in the hair in almost 2-3 minutes.

It claims to make hair healthy, but I am not sure how so many chemicals can make hair healthy. Though I am happy to have tangle and frizz free hair. Because otherwise, I end up having lot of hair breakage while combing and brushing.

The hair however starts looking oily the very next day. I do have oily scalp but the Loreal Hair serum I used earlier, would take about two days before my hair went really oily. I have used Sesa hair serum thrice by now, and every single time, my hair went oily the very next day. So, I guess if you have dry scalp it might work well for you.

The list of ingredients is almost the same as other hair serums. Although, there are no parabens involved the list is full of chemicals.

Pros:

  • Takes out frizz
  • Smoothens hair
  • Affordable
  • Comes from a trusted brand

Cons:

  • The incense stick like smell
  • The flip-top bottle is not very user friendly
  • Makes hair oily by next day of application

Rating; 3/5

L’oreal Hair serum works awesomely well! :) Sesa would obviously be a put off compared to it..
