Ghar Ke Nuske Daal Barabar? Maybe Not!

Every time you read that article which says “loose X amount of weight in X amount of time”, how much have you actually lost? Be truthful when you reply to the next question – How faithfully have you been able to curb the craving for that yummy slice of cheese cake?
Once you’ve admitted that your weight loss regime is not really turning out in your favor and you really do not have the time or energy to walk an extra mile after work, the following home-made remedies will help you lose weight slowly, steadily and definitely.

  • Tip 1:

We’ve all been advised by our dietitians and it does indeed work – A good healthy mug of warm water and a whole squeezed lime with a dash of salt. We do not want our teeth to suffer in the process of weight loss hence, the salt!

  • Tip 2:

Munching on a whole tomato every morning on an empty stomach will help increase metabolism and reduce weight over a span of 3-6 months.

  • Tip 3:

Go for a healthy diet, a little of every protein, carb, fat, vitamin and mineral and a little more of whatever your body needs more. For example, I have a roti (medium sized) or two with a healthy serving of some veggie or meat, a portion of steamed carrots, peas, corn and broccoli with a dash of butter and a pinch of salt and pepper; and finally a tiny portion of rice with a lot of daal. For dessert I have a fresh fruit for curbing the sweet pangs or simply end with a bowl of curd (plain).

  • Tip 4:

It is always better to precede your meal with a whole fruit rather than after. It is very important to note here that the tips given above work for people with no metabolism or thyroid related problems. If you have any health issue that curbs weight loss you will take a little longer than the normal time to lose weight but the bottom line for any weight loss program is to never give up! Because as a Golden Rule better something than nothing.

I love to shop well and to dress well, am a stickler for perfection, except for pani-puri (that’s when it’s ok to gorge on to sat(e)isfaction). Absolutely love to design and taste new delicious dishes and designing fashion-wear is another hobby just like dancing Salsa and Waltz. Good books are great, one at a time, while good music is great all the while. Love to read, love to feed, love the need to read and make read.
