3 Must Visit Street Food Places in Mumbai (Vile Parle)

I have lived in Mumbai for almost half a year now…  And the top most priority on my to-do list was to find places to “hang out” which is very difficult in a place like Mumbai! Places to shop there are many, especially malls! But I wanted something more personal… Places where you could sit with your friends and have your own space in spite of being surrounded by people, places where there is peace and quiet, and lots of yummy food! Not McD, Not Dominos, not Subway… something different, something hatke!

So me and my friends set out on a hunt… and to my utter luck, we came across some awesome food joints and that too… all in my locality! I am sharing my 3 Must Visit Street Food Places in Mumbai with you below.

Oh! I forgot to mention… I live in Vile Parle, Mumbai. And my favourite food joints are definitely bound to make you all envious of me!

So here goes…

• Sanmitra Dosa Centre

(Hanuman Road, Opp. Tilak School, Vile Parle, East)

 

Dosa? Yeah! You may feel that its just another ordinary dosa centre, but that’s where you are mistaken. You will not find 30+ varieties of dosas at any other outlet! Sada dosa, cheese dosa, onion dosa, mysore dosa, etc; you name it, they have it! The famous schezwan dosa is a complete hit amongst everybody!

Forget ravishing the food, it’s an absolute delight to watch the dosas being made. Not to forget the tasty red chutney served along that acts as an added bonus to the treats. Reasonable price and umpteen number of choices, a complete treat!

People from everywhere near by flock to this place to savour the delicious treats. The menu includes assorted range of uttapas and frankies too!

Another reason that this place could be famous is that because it was featured in the Bollywood film – Rocket Singh! Don’t believe me, see for yourself.

Never did tea appear to be so alluring… You may have been to a music café that allows you to have a cuppa of coffee while listening to music or even a book café… But a tea lounge where you have a variety of tea flavours that tickle your taste buds and leave a lingering taste on your tongue.

 

The Lounge…

The first of its kind, in my locality… a Perfect place for business meetings and discussions. The moment you step in, you are welcomed with an aroma that automatically makes you feel at home, there is comfortable seating and soft soothing music playing in the background. Be it Darjeeling chai, masala chai, adrak/ pudina chai, green tea, lychee tea or lemon tea, all varieties are at this one place. And along with that are a wide range of snacks… from soft cheesy croissants to desi dhokla, delicious mawaa cake and much more…
